Minneapolis, MN, September 2026 – NorthCoast is pleased to announce that Matt Kakta joined the firm in September 2026 as a Managing Director to support the continued growth of the business.
Based in St. Louis, MO, Matt is responsible for sourcing, closing, managing, and realizing transactions, conducting due diligence, and serving as board observer for portfolio companies.
He has over 20 years of experience in leveraged finance, sponsor coverage, and commercial banking. Prior to joining NorthCoast, Matt spent 15 years with Enterprise Bank & Trust, a St. Louis-based commercial bank, most recently as Managing Director and Head of Sponsor Finance, where he oversaw approximately $1.2 billion in senior debt commitments to 120 private equity-backed portfolio companies and worked with financial sponsors across the country on leveraged buyouts, add-on acquisitions and recapitalizations. Earlier in his career, Matt was an Assistant Vice President in the corporate banking division of Wells Fargo in San Francisco and St. Louis.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Saint Louis University
